Driving time information

REG. EEC 561/2006: DRIVING TIME AND REST PERIOD FOR DRIVERS

DAILY:

13 hours maximum with one driver, 21 hours maximum with 2 drivers (can be extended to 15 hours if at least 3 consecutive hours of rest are observed);

DAILY DRIVING PERMITTED:

9 hours maximum - every 4 hours and 30 minutes 45 minutes of rest are observed for each driver;

DAILY REST:

11 consecutive hours within 24 hours with reduction to 9 consecutive hours 3 days a week to be made up before the following weekend for each driver;

WEEKLY REST:

45 hours every 6 days of service with the possibility of reducing the rest to at least 24 uninterrupted hours with the obligation to recover the reduced rest linked to the daily rest before the end of the third following week.

Failure to comply will result in 2 points being deducted from the driver's licence in addition to the bus being immobilised on the spot. With regard to the above, special attention must be paid to the start and end times of services for multi-day journeys.
